ABOUT US

      Charitable Societies play a vital role in the upliftment of the society by contributing poor and under privileged people providing them with basic & essential needs like food, Clothing, shelter, education etc. and hence developing the nation. Charitable Societies are the organisation not under Government but with similar development agenda as of the Govt. itself.
      Its roles and functions are voluntary as their objectives, governance, working system & processes regulated under society or trust regulations.
     To accomplish such social objectives, ISLAMIA EDUCATIONAL & CHARITABLE SOCIETY DEOBAND (IECS), an NGO formed in the year 2002 (Reg. Under Society Registration act 1860) in Deoband, a place of importance as it played a crucial role in the Independence movement but lagging behind in education and social standards because of deteriorating financial conditions of the people of the area.
     IECS was established with an object to awake and empower the educationally backward people towards modern education in order to relieve them from the siege of poverty & illiteracy along with strengthening their social standard IECS in providing education to under privileged since last 18 years. Institution is also engaged in multi pronged activities in social and cultural fields as well.
     IECS is also working on providing immediate support to community in the from of food, Clothes, Medicine etc. Regular Seminar on legal awareness, Free medical camps by qualified physicians, leadership development programme, programmes on right to vote, Free book distribution and Scholarship for meritorious students are some of the social welfare programmes for weaker sections.
     With special focus on women empowerment, IECS with the help of Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India conducted Leadership Development Programme for Women to enable them stable, strong and to make them independent and to stand on their own feet.
     Welfare of the community in concerning poverty eradication, Education and medical help along with maintaining healthy relationship with social groups such as older people, children, women  and socially marginalized persons etc. are some of the major targets of IECS.
      IECS is also determined to help the victims of floods, starvation specially in the era of corona pandemic (Covid-19). IECS has distributed, food packets, nutrition packets, clothes etc. to weaker sections of the society and has been in front at the time of crisis. The corona virus pandemic has severely hit many poor families. While this period in challenging for everyone, especially tough for daily wagers etc, as they don’t have luxury of saving to cope up the situation.
     In the period of Lockdown (COVID -19 ), IECS has distributed 4000kg of grains, 2000kg of potatoes and onions, 800 soaps etc. to the affected families.
     Many International Welfare organisations also came forward to tie up with IECS to support these families. One of such organization is England (U.K.) based organisation, supported us to distribute ration to take care of them for atleast three weeks of food. Each food packet contained  5kg flour, 5kg rice, 2kg Dal, 2kg potatoes, 2kg onions, 1ltr oil, 1 kg salt and 2 soaps, Sanitizers, Masks & Gloves etc. along with many other essential commodities distribution.
